BLACK EXCELLENCE

the world
needs black seed
oil
and black soil
to do
the new
and improve
groove
yeah. black
flows
and grows
things
so yeah,
 black
can really
swing
yeah
like a king
or queen
on the dance
floor
yeah
black
can
give you so much
more
than
bargain for
but make no mistake
we are more love
than heartbreak
or
war

YOU CAN CALL ME BLACK

 YES

my skin is...

brown

there is no way

to get around

that

fact

but

you can call me black

yeah, black beauty

black cutie

black ruby

or black milk

chocolate

yeah my skin

feels like real

silk

so don't drop

the ball

when you call

me

black

because I love that

but know the facts

before you go there

BLACK-GROUND-BREAKING

 they hit the ground

run

yeah, back in the day

they did not play

yeah, they stood

for good

yeah, street to street

neighborhood to neighborhood

yeah, their feet

felt the heat

yeah, through every meet

and greet

BUT

GUESS WHAT?

they didn't stop

yeah, even when they got hassled

by cops

 they kept on walking

they kept on taking

righteousness

yes. in hopes

that all would be...

 blessed

equally

WALK WITH WISDOM ( BRAVO BLACK PEOPLE)

 they walked

with wisdom

the walked

with pride

yeah, they walked

with each other

side by side

yeah, most wasn't

televise

or documented

BUT

they were with it

yeah, they were

fully committed

to the cause

YEAH,

they had balls

in the school halls

and in several city streets

YEAH,

many feet

hit the beat

in the heat

BRAVO

BLACK

PEOPLE

GOD MADE ME A BLACK WOMAN

 God made me

a black woman

yeah, God made me

to be

more than a lil sumthin' sumthin'

yeah, sumthin' sweet like jam

yeah, I am

water to a dam

or

a slam to a dunk

yeah, I am

the trunk

to a hunk

of

a man

yeah, without me

he

could not stand

or even be

on this land

yeah, man

is

the sand

but

I am

the rib to live

yeah, the sensitive part

that is

more than capable

to protect

the heart

GOD MADE ME BLACK

 God made me...

 black

yeah, He didn't make me

whack

or weak

no, He made me

strong and deep

yeah, able to keep

going

yeah, even with...

not knowing it

all

yeah, to be black

is

to rise

with opened and closed

eyes

and, SUPRISE

I like the fact

that I am

black

yeah, even if...

i had no choice

in my skin

or

in my voice
